The UK aims to create an industrial sector that leads the world in operationalising and commercialising fusion energy. UKAEA has actively collaborated with industry, awarding over 70 contracts with a total value exceeding £4 million, while engaging with hundreds of different suppliers. A few examples of the excellent projects currently running include DELPHI (Device for Exposure to Low energy Plasmas of Hydrogen Isotopes), Inspection systems of in-service and in-vessel fusion components, and Materials testing to support ITER TBM (Test Blanket Modules) Qualification.
