It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the Culham Plasma Physics Summer School for 2020, due to the social distancing measures required during the coronavirus.
This is the first missed year in the school’s 57-year history, and we have not taken this decision lightly. After much consideration, we decided that the summer school would not translate well to a virtual environment. An essential element of the school is the lively discussion between students, tutors and lecturers that builds a strong depth of understanding and helps forge lasting professional connections. For the same reasons we also hesitate to ask our generous lecturers to commit to delivering such long and demanding material from their computer screens to an audience they may not be able to read and respond to.
