We have an excellent opportunity for a Control & Instrumentation Technician with an Electronics bias to become a member of a team of technicians supporting all hardware related aspects of the CODAS data acquisition and electronic systems.  The technician will be expected to be at a level where they able to use their own judgment and adapt existing principles as deemed appropriate.  The role can be broadly split into two parts:

  • Producing written technical reports and procedural documentation.
  • Testing and repairing of Electronic modules.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to other team members.
  • Working with the Electronics Section engineers supporting new designs and prototypes.
  • Providing rostered double shift support for hardware systems during JET operational campaigns. (approximately 1 week in 3).
    • Provide year-round rostered 24-hour support for critical systems. (approximately 1 week in 6).
    • Resolution of faults on JET to reduce downtime.  This requires the ability to react and solve complex problems using own initiative.
