Plastic Fabrication Workshop

Unique tailored-fit plastic enclosures

Creating bespoke, flexible and affordable containment solutions

The Plastic Fabrication Workshop (PFW) is home to H3AT’s unique capability to design and manufacture bespoke containment solutions for hazardous environments. Born out of a need to safely handle fusion materials and waste on the Culham site, this specialist competence and capability has been developed and enhanced.

Our Offerings

We offer fabrication and assembly solutions for the containment of radioactive contamination and hazardous materials, including the creation of temporary ‘clean room’ conditions. Our solutions range in sizes to suit complex and large geometrical requirements.

We also design and fabricate protective covers and isolators for high value equipment, gaiters and other conventional enclosures.

Our Team

Our highly skilled team are well versed in providing solutions to containment problems or isolation requirements. We will happily discuss in detail the design requirement that may include site visits for accurate assessment. Our aim is to propose a sustainable and cost-effective solution that uniquely addresses the challenge.

Our Products

Bespoke

Our made-to-measure products range in size from innovative protective covers for small robotic systems to maxi and multifaceted constructions.

Affordable

Our plastic fabrication products are more cost-effective than a solid generic containment system and will result in less waste when the project is completed.

Flexible

We use a variety of soft and hard plastic materials, incorporating a range of features to enable filtration, transfer ports, fixing points, zips and other closure systems.

Durable

We carefully select materials with specifications for rigidity, fire retardance and visibility to withstand hard wear and tear use and harsh environment conditions.
